Protect Yourself Against Instagram Hackers

The HACKERS are here and they are not backing down... We cannot reiterate enough the important of protecting our account. No matter if you have 100 followers or 100K plus, they are targeting EVERYONE!

Here are three things to live by so you don't fall victim to the hackers:⁠

1. DON'T CLICK THE LINK. First. IG will not send you a DM so if someone is messaging you about "copyright" or your account being shut down through a DM... do not click it! And if they do email you, there is a way to track it through the app before you click anything! Be cautious before clicking any link. And honestly if you don't have to click the link... DO NOT DO IT! Some hackers are taking over accounts just by people clicking the link and not even entering any information.⁠

2. Change your password and change it OFTEN! If you haven't changed your password in the past year... it is TIME to change it again. Make it a strong and unique password too. ⁠⠀

3. Turn on Two-Factor Authentication. This is your final line of defense. Make sure you have two factor turned on through a mobile app and through text. That is a double layer of protection for your account. And make sure to screenshot your backup codes just in case.⁠⠀

Speaking from experience... being hacked is one of the most violating and devastating feelings for someone that runs an online business. So make sure you are being smart and protecting your account in advance! The best defense is a good offense.
